Peggnet, LLC 8mm/VHS to DVD Conversion
PeggNet Movie Transfer (reel or Video directly to Digital)

Preserve your memories by converting your 8mm reels and VHS tapes.

The Mission of PeggNet Computers is to provide the highest quality 8mm, Super 8 & 16mm film transfers directly to Hard Drive, MiniDV, & DVD. We use Rank Cintel flying spot scanners equipped with new High Definition Optics. All film is enhanced with the High Definition Color Corrector by our skilled colorists.

You will easily see substantially better digital pictures from your films that only millions of dollars of technology investment can produce.

Many films suffer from incorrect color and brightness problems. The following examples show uncorrected (original 8mm) and corrected frames after being processed by PEGGNET COMPUTERS Color Correction.

PeggNet Movie Transfer is partnered with several media film companies that each specialize in different aspects of the film industry. By partnering with several specialists, we can choose the best process to transfer your movies to DVD. Whether they are regular, super 8mm, 16mm reel-to-reel, 8mm video, Mini DV, or VHS video we have the equipment and expertise.

The goal of PeggNet Computers is simply to make great pictures, providing the best transfer available! We transfer all film on Rank Cintel Turbo II Telecines with MetaSpeed and Digital Deflection System - the same equipment used for Hollywood features!

Scanning is achieved through an extremely high resolution electron tube/crt. The film is scanned pixel by pixel, producing separate Red, Green, and Blue information. This information is adjusted by approximately 100 cards to produce pictures of the highest detail. In fact, the digital picture information leaving our Rank Cintel film scanners has a data rate of 270,000,000 bits per second. That is about 100 times more information than you would have on a really good cable modem connection, or excellent DSL connection.

All film is color corrected by our skilled colorists.

The film scanner operator/ colorist watches your film and uses his/her experience to insure that color and brightness are as consistent as possible throughout your film. This level of detail is not possible with any form of automated or unsupervised process. Each project is assigned to one colorist to keep results as even as possible.
2000+ feet of either 35mm, 16mm or 8mm film can be scanned at one time. Your 8mm film is treated just as carefully as the priceless Hollywood feature films that this telecine was designed for. There is no hot projector bulb, and no starting and stopping film on each frame like a projector. Just perfect continuous movement of the film while it is scanned. Even bad splices run through without damage. There is no pressure plate that can scratch your film - a constant risk with film projectors.
The MetaSpeed Digital Servo System (screen pictured above). This controls film speed and scanning size perfectly. It is simply the best in the world. Note that film speed is accurate to .001 seconds!

4:2:2 is an uncompressed, component digital broadcast video standard, that delivers images composed of 270 Million bits per second and twice the color depth of DV based formats..

...Or for the non-technical, exceptionally rich, beautiful pictures!

  • We also understand, that in many cases, you will be editing your films on your PC or MAC, and may choose to do your own additional color correction, requiring as much of the original film detail and digital data as possible to be present.

  • Therefore, we offer several standards of digital delivery:
    • Direct to DVD
    • Direct to Mini DV Tape (For editing your own images, sequencing, titling, sound, etc…)
